Moonshie Flights

Growing up in West Virginia and Western Maryland, Moonshine has always been the stuff of Appalachian legends.

Historically, it was a way of life. Over the years, its popularity has grown.  It is now big business. Stills have literally been brought down from the hills and reached mainstream - finding its way to Madison Avenue and made-for-TV reality shows.

For years, our relatives and friends in the region have made moonshine.  The story goes that our grandfather would constantly play the cat and mouse game with "the revenuers" as he would continually hide his still in order to avoid "jail and taxes."

Known to many in the area as "The Old Hermit" Grand-pap Michael (a good Scottish name) - would brew up white lightning to imbibe and share with friends - for a fee of course.

In 2023, while attending a wedding in West Virginia, and showing friends some pics of our Scotch Flights, one of the guests remarked, "You should make flights for moonshine!"

Well, that was all it took and soon "Time to Shine" flights were created...
