ABOUT US

IT ALL STARTED WITH A TRIP AND A SIP!

Flights of Scotland gets its name from a dream fulfilled, Christmas gift, and a father’s legacy. In the summer of 2022, Jim and Michelle House took a trip across the pond to Scotland that would change their lives. Jim had always wanted to go and having attended a couple of Celtic festivals and finding they both had Scottish heritage, it was even more appealing to them. Everyday on their trip, they would grab each other and say, “We’re in Scotland b!tches”

Following their trip, they found themselves feeling ‘homesick’ for Scotland. Michelle decided to buy Jim a bottle of Scotch that Christmas – The Glenlivet 12 – to spark his nostalgia and reconnect with the ancestral homeland. Little did she know that Jim would become both a connoisseur and collector. Jim made it a goal initially to collect 1 bottle from each region – Highlands, Speyside, Lowlands, Campbeltown, Islay, and Islands. Seventy-five bottles later, and as a result of Michelle telling Jim, “You have to stop talking about Scotch. You’re becoming obsessed”. Jim was forced to go to the garage and he started experimenting with his deceased father’s wood turning equipment. Perhaps a new hobby would come of it. Then a thought came to him, if he couldn’t talk about Scotch anymore, maybe he could make accouterments to go along with his collection.

And, thus began Flights of Scotland.
